Grant Carter did everything in his power to shed his playboy reputation and convince Harlow Manning that he was worthy of her trust and her love. But then he made the mistake of letting her go.
After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, Harlow had fallen hard and fast for him, but the truth about her sheltered upbringing has shattered their relationship and torn them apart. Harlow wants to be with Grant and knows that he regrets letting her go, but the secrets she now carries has far greater consequences. Can Harlow risk giving Grant one more chance, or will the gamble ultimately destroy them both?
Just when I though Grant and Harlow's story couldn't get any better, Abbi Glines goes and threatens to rip your heart out!
The world now knows about the two biggest secrets that Kiro Manning has kept all his life in order to protect Harlow. And now Grant knows how delicate Harlow really is. Escaping the world's media, Harlow stays with her half-brother Mase in Texas, where she discovers some life changing news. Now she's literally risking her life. Even though Grant doesn't want to lose her, he can't help be excited by a future with Harlow. But just when Grant takes the leap he's feared, his life is turned upside down as he faces the prospect of losing the only thing that makes his life worth living.
Oh gosh this story was emotional! It's super easy for me to cry in books, which is evident by the fact that I've shed some tears with all the Rosemary Beach books, but the heartbreak that Grant has to face really tugged at the heartstrings.
With this story, I particularly liked how Abbi incorporated letters that Harlow had written. The way Harlow stayed so strong while facing the idea that she might not be able to survive, and spent time writing to Grant was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I also loved the other perspectives we got in this book, particularly since Mase and Kiro go on to have their own stories. The way Abbi is able to introduce and incorporate characters that will have their own books is so good, leaving me so excited to get to their book.
The further I get into this series, the more I love it. It's so easy to get swept away by the lives of those in Rosemary Beach, and although it's hard to leave these characters at the end of the book, I'm excited to follow a new couple and continue to follow the characters I've already read about. 2017 is definitely the year of Abbi Glines for me!
