Series: Pretty Little Liars #4
Four pretty little liars' charmed lives have turned into living nightmares.
Emily's been shipped off to Iowa to live with her uber conservative cousins. Ara's boyfriend is behind bars - because of her. Spencer's afraid she was involved in Ali's murder. But Hanna's fate is far worse: She's clinging to life in the hospital because she knew too much.
If these girls don't start listening to me, Hanna's going to look like the lucky on.
This series just keeps getting better and better and the conclusion of arc one is fabulous! I am so pumped to plough through the rest of the series.
Picking up right after Hanna is run over by A, the book follows the girls trying to get Hanna to remember who she believed A to be. Emily is sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Iowa, where she is betrayed by her cousins and decides to run away after only one day. Aria is forced to move in with her father and Meredith, and attempts to show her father how horrible she is. Hanna recovers from her accident as Spencer and Mona plan a masquerade party for her. Spencer continues to believe that she had some involvement in Ali's death, but soon believes her sister to be hiding something about the night Ali disappeared. And Mona begins receiving messages from A, just a the girls get closer to discovering their stalker's' identity.
After the slightly slow book three, this book was drama packed and such a thrilling read. For those who have watched the show, you will know who the first A was, so it was not a surprise when the girl's discovered their identity. However, it was still such a surprising turn of events all the same.
Since this is the conclusion of arc one, it definitely tied up a lot of the loose ends of this part of the story, but there is obviously still so many questions that need answering, so I can't wait for the rest of the series.
I do wish we got to see more of Emily in Iowa, since it seemed like it was going to be a big part of her story, but it was only for a few chapters. I kind of hope we get to see and hear more about Emily's Iowa family, since they did have an interesting dynamic compared to everyone else in Rosewod.
Again, I highly recommend this book - you definitely need to read this series, even if it is just these first four books. But, considering A is still at large, you will probably want to keep going :)
