At the time of writing this, it's currently 12:44am here, and we are two hours, nearing three, into the Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon. I thought I'd take a minute to do the first challenge, pre-event thingo - the Opening Meme!
1. What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
To be really specific, I'm currently curled up in my nice warm bed, in southern New South Wales, Australia :)
2. Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
All the books I've picked for my TBR are one I'm excited for, but I'd have to say The Heir and Chew Vol. 1.
3. Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Does coffee count as a snack? Definitely going to be needing coffee after a few hours sleep. I'm actually lucky because my mum is baking tomorrow/today (however you wanna look at it - it's not today until I've slept haha), so I'm going to sneak some biscuits, slice and cake to enjoy while reading.
4. Tell us a little something about yourself!
I LOVE history (and if you've been around here for a while, this wouldn't have come as a surprise to you), and I'm actually majoring in history in the hope of pursuing historical research and becoming a historian, and writing about history.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I couldn't participate in the October readathon, but I did participate in the April one last year, which was actually my first readathon in the bookish community. For me, the readathon took place on ANZAC Day, so the morning was spent at Anzac commemorations. This year, with it not being on Anzac Day, I plan to bury my nose in my books for most of the day, only taking it out to participate in challenges, eat and for toilet breaks!
If you're participating in the Readathon, GOOD LUCK!
I've kicked off the Readathon reading A Rose For The ANZAC Boys by Jackie French. I may or may not be posting more on this blog during the readathon, it all depends on the challenges, so make sure you follow me on Twitter (@MyBooks_AreMe) and Snapchat (mybooksareme) for updates.
I'm also vlogging during the Readathon! I'll have the vlog and wrap-up video on my channel on Monday afternoon.
See You Soon!
